We believe artists are powerful agents for positive change. The Artist Social Impact Grant supports and empowers visual artists during the inception phase of a community project that is separate from, but can be related to, their artmaking. We are interested in supporting programs and platforms that evolve diversity, celebrate human connections, and aim to enrich audiences well beyond the art system. Relevant projects utilize social forms rather than traditional studio media or making processes and should propose critical interventions towards creating systemic change. Artists will be invited to submit proposals for projects on an annual basis.
Grants are one-time, unrestricted funds given directly to artists in order to realize a fully conceptualized project. In addition to direct financial support to the artist, the Foundation will provide access to networks and other resources toward realizing a sustainable and transformative project.
